Anyway, this is just an example that you can workout anywhere, anytime, with no equipment. When I first moved out to Australia, it seemed to me that everything closed early on Sunday. Having to think outside the box, I thought about when I was training for my first show. My trainer had me go to the junior college back home in California, and run the bleachers there.
If you don’t have bleachers anywhere in your town, find just a set of stairs to use. Vary the way you get up and down them by sprinting, then hopping with both feet together. Not only will you train your muscles and crack your heart rate, you’ll also give your brain a workout. Our legs are not used to being used as one pogo-stick like motion.
In this video I have two sets of stairs, with a nice distance between the two, to do various moves in between sets. If you’re starting out, you can use the distance between each set of stairs (if you have more than one set of stairs to work with) to walk and bring your heart rate back down. Even if you’ve only got one set of stairs to work with, sprint up those suckers, and walk back down them. Or, sprint up them, and once you get to the top, drop down and do 10 burpees, or 20 jumping jacks, or 10 pushups…. or freaking do 10 burpees, 20 jacks, and 10 pushups all together! Either write down what you did, or remember it, so when you go back and do it again, you do more than what you did the last time. No reason to keep doing it if you’re not improving; unless of course it just makes you feel good. Which is often the case with any type of exercise
Do something for a total of 20 minutes, or something similar to this video. If ya only have one set of stairs, hit it 10 times going up. You don’t’ have to be in the gym to get a good workout- The biggest challenge is just getting your ass to do it without coming up with some bullshit excuse! NOW C’MON DAMMIT!
