As I’ve mentioned, countless times I’m sure, is that I keep the carbs till after my workout nowadays.  I used to LOVE eating instant cream of wheat, first thing in the morning.  Then, after learning a TON of brilliant stuff from John Berardi PhD (his link is in my merchandise section of the site), I stopped with the smiling black man oats, and now eat eggs in some form (usually).  ATM I’m having only 4 fried eggs (cooked…. fried sounds so fattening) by themselves.  It would be ideal for me to be eating an egg white omelette with some kind of veg inside, but I don’t have any in the fridge.  If I’m just eating fried eggs, I’ll typically make more like 6 or 7, because I don’t eat but 1, mayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyybe 2, yolks.  I don’t have high cholesterol because I eat crappy, genetically where I come from, I’m predisposed to have high cholesterol.  I keep the yolks to a minimum.  Berardi also suggests eating eggs that enriched with Omega 3′s.  Also, make sure you are eating range, cage free eggs.  Organic if you can.  I would also be eating black beans and fresh cilantro if I could, with my eggs.  But down here in Australia, the only kind of beans you’re gonna get prepared (canned), are BAKED BEANS!  I about shat myself when I walked down the ‘bean’ isle at grocery store when I first got out here.  Baked beans, reduced sodium baked beans, big container, small container, fridge pack container……….. scanning, scanning…….. OH!  kidney beans, chickpeas (wtf?! why aren’t they called garbanzo beans?!?!)….. more baked beans….. WHERE ARE THE BLACK BEANS?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!  LOL.  the only place to get black beans is the farmers market.  I have some in the cupboard, but have been slacking on cooking them.

ANYWAY, my fried eggs are cooked in rice bran oil spray (a good fat), and have a dash of ‘sea salt’ on them (ditch your table salt for keltic sea salt), and a bunch of fresh cracked pepper on top.  Since I’m too lazy to separate the eggs yolks, I crack them open and drop the entire egg into the pan from a very close range to the pan.  That way, I have a lesser chance of the yolk breaking in the pan, making it easier to eat around when avoiding the yolks.

I’m also having a ‘long black’ (espresso and water… what us americans call an ‘americano’!) with a dash of soy milk to cool off my coffee, because I’m impatient and don’t wanna wait for it to cool down : ) no sugar.

As you know I’m Kortney with a k. I’ve learned most things in life @ a price. Some lessons were pretty cheap! Conversely, some lessons, well… not-so-much. Over all, I like to sum it all up as such; “I’ve done all the hard work, so you don’t have to!”.
